Preliminary
results of UNFPA funded Youth Survey
The National Population Council is currently processing data
from the recently conducted youth survey funded by UNFPA. The
Youth Survey is a KAP-study designed to provide information
about Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of youth regarding population
and development issues, gender and reproductive health. The
youth survey provides data from 10 selected governorates on
the status of HIV/AIDS awareness among 13-29 year old Yemenis,
the prevalence of early marriage and the gap between preferred
age at marriage and actual age at marriage among many other
issues. UNFPA Advisor, Abdallah Abdelaziz Zou’bi from
UNFPA Country Technical Support (CST) in Amman assisted the
NPC during his recent mission to Yemen, and helped provide preliminary
results. |
