The UNFPA held an indoor meeting Monday with its partners to discuss the Country Program Action Plan (CPAP). During the event, Alexandar Ilyin, UNFPA Deputy Representative, welcomed participants to the UNFPA's office and thanked them for coming. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to link implementation activities carried-out by partners with the objectives of the UNFPA' CPAP in a manner that would enhance overall results. In addition, Ilyin emphasized the importance of coalescing UNFPA activities with Yemen 's population strategy. Dr. Saleh Al-Sheik, UNFPA Assistance Representative, explained the differences between the current program and the earlier one and the ongoing processes of the implementation of the CPAP. According to Yemen 's plan, by 2025 Yemen should reach a level of development much higher than the current state, said Al-Sheik. More than 25 participants from different government agencies and NGOs attended the meeting. |
