The Yemeni population has tripled since 1975 from 7 to 21 million people

The mean number of desired children for Yemeni families is 4.6 while the mean number of childbirths per woman is 7

Only one out of five childbirths in Yemen takes place with skilled attendants

That 74 % of the population in Yemen live in rural areas

That 50 % of the population is between 0-14 years old

That out of 4,500 Physicians working in the public health sector, less than 700 are female.

That every minute in the world 380 women become pregnant ; 190 of these women did not plan or do not wish the pregnancy.

That every minute in the world 110 women experience a pregnancy related complication; 40 women have an unsafe abortion; 1 woman dies from a pregnancy related cause.

That every minute in the world 650 people are infected with a curable sexually - transmitted infection.
