In July, UNFPA supported the launch of two Family Counselling Centres in Sana’a and Aden to help alleviate the psychological effects of gender-based violence, which has recently increased due to the conflict and war.
The aim of the project is to support more than 7,000 cases of gender-based violence with integrated psychological care, including psychosocial counselling, telephone psychotherapy, psychological rehabilitation, special health care and day care, raise the awareness of more than 100,000 community members and decision makers, and refer 143 survivors of vio-lence to other educational, health, legal services.
