Due to the increasing numbers of protection cases in Taizz with no shelter to houae these women in Taiz. These cases have been referred to Ibb shelter instead. This created the need to establish new shelter in Taizz to address this issue and increasing demand to support survivors  of different forms of violcne in this governorate, rather than risking women and sending them from one governorate to another.

In the last quarter of 2018, approximately 8,078 beneficiaries have been provided with multi-sectorial services, 551 beneficiaries got psychosocial support, 66 received legal support, 76 medical support, 2,193 life skills and 5,192 have benefited from the awareness raising programmes in all safe centres.

The shelter was opened with generous contributions from the Government of Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.
