It is vital to engage youth as social actors with their own views and contributions rather than acknowledging them as victims or perpetrators of violence. With this strongly-held belief, the Country Office conducted a training for 20 young people on peacebuilding skills in four southern governorates of Yemen – the first of many activities contributing to further the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda in Yemen. This comes as investment at the individual level where 180 young persons across the country will benefit from and be advocates for the Youth, Peace and Security.
The project which targets six governorates is supported by Peace Building Support Office. UNFPA Yemen along with UN Women Yemen are jointly implementing this project aiming for Yemeni youth to contribute to Track II peace efforts.
