UNFPA conducted a youth consultation meeting on ICPD25 bringing together 35 young people from a range of political, social and economic backgrounds to discuss their priorities and aspirations. A statement to be delivered at the Nairobi Summit was prepared by the young people at the end of the consultation.
“We look forward to the Nairobi Summit with so much hope in that it will make progress towards its goals of ameliorating unmet needs in the fields of reproductive and sexual health and family planning. Simultaneously, we would like to draw attention to the multiplying needs of communities living amidst conflict and humanitarian crisis, like those in our home country of Yemen”, youth statement said.
