Aden, Yemen – UNFPA in partnership with the Ministery of Youth and Sports, inaugurated a newly upgraded Youth Training and Rehabilitation Center in Aden. The center addresses youth challenges by employing a multi-faceted approach that integrates healthcare, economic empowerment, and capacity building.
The facilities have been enhanced to offer a range of youth-friendly services, equipping young men and women with essential skills to improve their employability and well-being and bridge the gap between economic empowerment and access to reproductive health services.
The center features training sections, including a computer and mobile maintenance training unit, life skills development center, and employability skills workshops, all of which are integrated with awareness sessions, mental health, and psychosocial support services to address emotional well-being and resilience.
A key aspect of the center is its commitment to empowering young people as agents of change, providing education on critical issues such as child marriage, female genital mutilation and women's protection. The facility is also equipped with two mini-football fields, one designated for young men and the other for young women, ensuring inclusive recreational opportunities.
The Youth Training and Rehabilitation Center in Aden represents a significant step towards enhancing youth development, equipping the next generation with vital skills for a brighter future.
